quick update

Hi,

Just a quick post - basically just to check in. It's been a very busy weekend so far! Last night I was just sitting down for some craft time when my little brother called (he's 25) and asked me to come over to his house - very strange I thought...seeing as he can't cook I knew it wasn't for dinner - then he said he had been in a car accident and that his car is a total write off and that he had hurt his neck. I freaked out and went over straight away...our parents and our other brother all live in QLD so it's really only us...need to help each other out when we can. SOOO....his car OH MY GOODNESS!!!! In all my life I have never seen a car in that state. It looks as though someone has opened up the side of his car with a can opener! poor bugger!! It was a LONG night...a couple hrs spent at the doctors and then some time just sitting and talking with him to make sure he was OK...I managed to get him to spend the night at our house so I could keep an eye on him and he when he woke today he was ok...thank god!!

it didn't get any quieter today either. Netball first thing this morning...and cooking and washing all day today. I have just sat down to hopefully create something to post a little later.

Tomorrow morning I am going to spend some time with my very best friend in the whole world Rochelle. She has the house to herself for a couple of hours so I'm going to share her peace and quiet and have some girly time. I'm really looking forward to it.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

thank you cards

I got home from work yesterday to find a lovely little package had arrived containing the last of my Stampin Up order. FINALLY I was able to create some cards!! After hours of playing around with different ideas and checking out blogs for sketches etc here is what I came up with....

I saw this card orignally on Karen's blog and loved it instantly but unfortunately without the stampin up scallop punch it just doesn't look as good

I had to sneek the lady beetle on one of them at least....I just LOVE this little guy!

I took all for examples to Rochelle's this afternoon and she loves the butterfly card the most. I must admit, I am really pleased because that is my fave too. I think its just so cute for a baby girl thank you/announcement.

So, I'm off to bed at a reasonable hour tonight....unlike last night, up until all hours chatting to Sarah-Jane tut tut!! haha Thanks SJ for all your help with my paper order and advice with these cardsI always appreciate your time :)

Tomorrow night it's time to start cutting and getting these cards made hopefully by Sunday!!

I will leave you all by proudly announcing that I have gone up 1 level on my treadmill program and I feel absolutely punished!! Time to go rest my weary body.

p.s. please, leave me some comments on these cards....I would love to know what you all think.

feelin creative!

Well, it has been over a month since I scrapped and let me tell ya...it felt great to get back into it!

I have wanted to scrap these photos for a couple of months now and I'm so pleased that I finally got round to it! The journaling is a little 'interview' I did with Abbey a couple of months ago - asking her questions about what her favourite toy is, what is her favourite movie etc. I plan on asking her the same set of questions every couple of months to see how her tastes have changed and it's a nice way to see her maturing - with the answers she gives. I am really looking forward to the day when she is an adult and we go through these 'interviews' and laugh. It will be so cute!!

While I was in a creative mood last night I thought I would give Karen's card sketch a shot
and here is my take

AND....I ended up doing another 2 cards as well!!

How cute is this little set of cards huh?!

I ended up playing around all night on the Cricut using different fonts etc to get the look I was after and didn't get to bed until well after midnight! WOW, where did that burst of energy come from?

Lets see if I can get some more done tonight before the feeling leaves me again.

I scrapped!!

It took me almost 3 hrs for the most simple page ever but I did it!!

I can't wait until tomorrow so I can take a couple of pics and post it.

SJ, take a moment to prepare yourself, I know you have been waiting for a long time to see me get back into scrapping!!

Looking forward to sharing it all with you AND....now that I'm on a roll I thought I might give Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch a go.

a couple of cards

I have a couple of cards to share that I made a couple of weeks ago for mothers day. I didn't do different ones for my mum, Daniel's mum and my Nanna I just changed the colours to suit their personal taste. Now that mothers day is over it's safe to post them.

this one was for my mum

this one was for Daniel's Mum (I have been decorating a lot of present bags lately)
and here is just a little pic of Abbey and I being silly one night in my scrap room.
You will be surprised to hear that I am scrapping tonight!!! wooooHOOOO my mojo has finally come back to me I think! I have been looking through scrapping mags etc for weeks now trying to find some inspiration to get me going and this evening I am really looking forward to getting Abbey to bed and doing at least 1 layout!!

I got an email from my dear blogging buddy sarah to tell me that I should have my order from Stampin Up by next weekend so I can make a start on the cards for Rochelle. I am REALLY looking forward to that!

I will see you all again tomorrow with a brand spanking new layout...I'm off now to go and decide what I'm going to scrap!

Until next time,

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary (as well as my birthday). After a lovely Thai meal and over a nice glass of Moscato my husband presented me with the most gorgeous card! He always writes the most gorgeous things in my cards. If it wasn't so personal I would share with all to prove to the world what a softy he really is!!! I love him so much and am looking forward to many more years of happiness together!

Here are a couple of pics Abbey took of us tonight after dinner. For some reason we are all sitting in my craft room...tell me why we have a lounge room when we all seem to sit up here??

Oh, here is a pic of the roses I promised from last night...the ones my gorgeous neighbour cut from her garden for my birthday....nice huh?

Now...on to crafting...I have been asked to do some thank you cards for my BF Rochelle's baby. I ordered the paper last week from Stampin' Up! and part of the order arrived today! The Pink Pirouette DSP is soooo pretty. I can't wait for the white card stock to arrive so I can get started on them! here is the picture I will be placing in the card.

Is she not the CUTEST baby you have ever seen!?!?!?!?!?

That's all i can show you so far because that's all I have done! I have a few ideas for the card but nothing definite yet. Once I get the rest of my order from stampin up I will make a start on a couple of designs. I LOVE doing stuff like this, I can't wait to get started!!

Anyway, I'm off to watch a bit of TV before bed.

Until next time,
Shell xx

p.s.
thanks for all the gorgeous birthday comments, emails and messages!! It's always lovely to get them...especially from my online/blogging pals! xxooxxoo

Catch up....

I really need to find the time to blog more often!

May has been an incredibly busy month for us with birthday's, baptism's and lots of other celebrations!

Last weekend Mother's Day was gorgeous. I won't be sharing any pics with you, somehow I don't think the shots of me in my pj's having breakfast in bed are what you come here for! haha

Daniel and Abbey got up early and bacon and eggs for breakfast. It was soooo yummy, wow, what a delicious way to spend the morning! Abbey also surprised me with a cute little gift from the mother's day stall at school. Daniel gave her $3 and told her to pick something for me. She picked a pin cushion, a pot holder and a hand towel all wrapped in cellophane and a ribbon. Bless her! I have absolutely no use for a pin cushion (I don't sew) or a crochet pot holder (I don't have a tea pot) but she chose them because they were green and green is my favourite colour. What a sweet heart huh!?

Yesterday we had my niece's 3rd birthday party. It was a dress-up party. The kids could come as whatever they liked. Abbey wanted to go as a netball player but my niece had given her strict instructions she was to come as a mermaid! So, Ariel the mermaid it was.....

All the kids had a fantastic time playing and chasing the dad's and poppy too of course! They were all warn out by the end of the day.

Last night we spent decorating my birthday cake. It's my birthday tomorrow but seeing as it falls on a Monday we decided to have the family over for cake and coffee this morning. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! I received lovely gifts and spent some time with those that I love the most!!!

(don't all paper crafter's use their crafting supplies to decorate their cake?)

Just as I was about to sit down and eat lunch I heard a knock at the door and there was my thoughtful neighbour Carole....holding a bottle of wine and some roses from her garden. She had heard everyone singing happy birthday to me in the yard this morning and thought she would bring me a gift....so sweet of her!! Will have to post a pic of those roses at a later date. They are so pretty!

Daniel and I also have our wedding anniversary tomorrow (We got married on my 30th birthday) so I always get an extra special gift. This year Daniel and Abbey bought me a white gold and diamond pendant...lucky girl huh?? (this is the best pic I can show you of it so far).

and here we are....4 years ago on our wedding day!

These pictures bring such a smile to my face. We had such a lovely wedding day! look how cute Abbey was as flower girl. These pics are also very inspirational. I am working very hard to get that slim figure back!! I joined weight watchers and I am getting on my treadmill 5 days a week and working my butt off - literally!!!! I have been enjoying the exercise so much which is odd for me. Whenever I get a little bored with it I will just look at these wedding pictures and it will motivate me instantly!

Anyway, better go and get everything organised for the week of school and work ahead. Hope everyone has a great week!

lots and LOTS of photos

It's been a very busy weekend and I played the paparazzi role...my family has come to expect it now though.

First up Saturday morning. It was Abbey's first netball game. For those international visitors that don't know what that is, I guess the easiest way to describe it is to say it's similar to basketball, commonly played by females but you can't bounce the ball or walk/run when you have the ball. There is a goal at each end, like basketball and a goal is equal to 1 point. (I hope that has helped). The finaly score was 2-2 so no winners which I think was a good idea, being that all the girls are between 6 and 7 I think it was a good result to show them there doesn't have to be a winner for them to have fun! Here's the pics...we are so proud of her, she did a great job!

she played 'centre'. that's her with the C on her shirt

Saturday night we had a family night. Daniel was home for the weekend and we decided to make the most of it. We had a nice afternoon of cooking together. Minestrone soup filled with beautiful fresh vegetables and then followed by Turner made Pizza's....they were delicious! Here's a pic of Abbey pretending to cook her pizza in her own little kitchen......

and here is a pic of her tasting pineapple juice - love the look on her face

we finished the night off watching a movie together and had a great time.

today - Sunday. It was my nephew Nate's Christening and First birthday party and what a gorgeous day to have it. The sun was shining and there was no wind at all - very unusual for this time of year that's for sure. So, off to church this morning for him to be baptised then back at their place for a party for his birthday.

we all had a fun day celebrating with Natey and catching up with family and friends we hadn't seen for a long time.

I managed to fit in a card for Nate's christening - very simple and quick but cute (i think)

well, that's it. Sorry for so many pics everyone but I took over 300 over the course of the weekend it was hard to decide what to post!

Better go feed my family some dinner now...until next time

I've been a bad blogger

I haven't updated at all this week. The time is just flying and before I know it, it's the weekend again!

Once again, no scrapping to share, only pics.

Here is my gorgeous little nephew Nate. It was his 1st birthday through the week and we popped over to give him his pressie...his very own dragons jersey, too cute!

Abbey participated in her first ever cross country race at school this week. What a great day she had. They started the day off warming up with some very fun activites.

hoop jumping

bean bag balancing relay

kicking soccer goals

playing with friends
parachute fun
running the home straight on the (approx) 500m cross country track
having a well deserved treat at maccas after the race

Daniel and I were so pleased to have spent the morning with her, we all had a lot of fun.

It's the start of the month and we have lots planned (my scrapping included!).

See ya again soon
