A very hot weekend

When it's so hot that you can't go outside what else is there to do but to sit in air conditioned comfort and scrap?! I have completed 7 layouts this week. That's gotta be a record for me!

This is the Word Challenge at Challenge Heaven

This was the Blind Scrap last week at Challenge Heaven

This was the Scrap Yourself challenge at Challenge Heaven

This was the quote challenge at Challenge Heaven

This was the Sketch Challenge at Challenge Heaven
You only have to complete 4 layouts to be eligible for 1 of 2 prizes each month. This is not a competition site but a Challenge Site. Your work is not judged....it's a random draw. So, you gotta be in it to win it. Pop over and have a look around. Do a couple of challenges and if you're lucky enough you might even win some prizes!

I have a couple more to share but will leave that until later in the week.

Until next time,

Lots of pics again

ok- so I am still waiting on my Project Life kit to arrive so until then I have to use my blog to remind me what order things are supposed to be in.....

Monday 18th January 2010 - Abbey and I spent some time playing Wii Sing it - Disney version. Abbey got her highest score singing Demi Lovato - Get Back. She was rather pleased with herself.

Tuesday 19th January 2010

We forgot to take a pic on Tuesday so I only have notes on what happened that day. Abbey spent the day with my Nanna. They walked to McDonalds for a Happy Meal then they took the bus to visit me at work and walked across to the lake to 'visit grandad' (my grandfathers ashes are scattered in his fave fishing spot at the lake near where I work). I spent the evening with my bookclub friends discussing Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.

Wednesday 20th January 2010 - Abbey made me a necklace...I'm wearing it today :-)

and I have 1 more pic

52 weeks of me

Week 3 - this is me....raw....natural. No makeup, hair not done etc

I'm hoping to find the time this coming weekend to scrap all 3 weeks of me before the pile gets too big and I start feeling overwhelmed.

Can't wait to get my Project Life kit....I'm desperate to start that. It should be a lot of fun!

Pic Update

Just thought I'd take a moment to update my pics for the last week of Project Life. I have ordered my kit but will continue to post my daily pics here until it arrives so it's easy to keep track when the time comes to compile it all.

11th Jan - heading out to get some groceries

12th Jan - my view at work...lovely huh!? NOT!

13th Jan - Abbey serenading my at bedtime. Singing "you are the music in me" from HSM

14th Jan - a little treat for my girl. Nails being painted bright pink with black swirly nail art. So very grown up.

15th Jan - baking cookies. She did everything (except the hot part) all on her own. Proud Mummy!! :-)

16th Jan - my mundane task for the week....grocery shopping.

17th Jan - a little sneak at a blind scrap I finished today from the Savvy forum.

that's all I have to share for now.

Project Life

2 posts in 1 day....amazing!!

I love reading all about everyones plans for recording the year 2010 and I can't wait to get my hands on a Project Life kit from Becky Higgins.

Until I get my kit I will share my pics here. (I have already missed a couple of days but it's not the end of the world.

Jan 2nd - Where's Wally?
Jan 5th - I lost my glasses and it took us 2 days to find them

January 6th - A snuggle in bed one morning whilst drinking tea

Jan 7th - Our Camping trip to Bawley Point (Racecourse Beach)
Jan 8th - My View (from the campsite)...very relaxing sitting there reading The Notebook.

Jan 9th - Heal & Toe Polka at the Bush Dance organised by the Anglican Church group at the Campsite.
Jan 10th - feeling rather tired after the trip home. The thought of all the washing and unpacking was terrible.
If you're doing this or something similar...leave me a link to your blog in the comments section. I would love to come and have a look at what you're doing.

52 weeks of me

I have been meaning to post this for 2 weeks now....I cant believe I've left it this late.

OK. So this year I decided to started doing some more scrapping about me. (Becky Higgins inspired) I try really hard to participate in the Scrap Yourself challenges at Challenge Heaven but I really wanted to do something more. Its time to get in front of the camera more and document the NOW.

Week 1 - this is the day I returned to work for the year. And this photo shows just how Abbey and I feel about that!

week 2 I was feeling really relaxed until we returned home from a couple of days of camping I was a little tired and had too much unpacking to do.

I will take a photo of myself (or get someone else to do it) and do one layout a week about me. It can be about anything.... my feelings for the week or that particular day....the mundane tasks I had to complete that day and the costs of the things I bought at the shops. I'm doing this with my future grandkids in mind. I know I would have loved a book like that of my grandmother. So it's....a year in the life of me. I'm up to week 2 of pics but no layouts to share just yet.

It would be great if you could join me on this journey. Feel free to post your pics in the forum with a little bit of journaling. I will be using it as a kind of journal because if I don't write it down somewhere - by the time I get around to scrapping it I'll forget.

Until next time,

Lots of photos to share

We have returned from our camping trip and would you believe there is not 1 photo of me other than one I took myself!? I really need to train that husband of mine to take the camera occasionally so I can get in the holiday pics.

So here are some pics of our little getaway.....

Abbey doing the limbo at the disco

Abbey doing the Heal & Toe Polka at the Bush dance

My view of Abbey in the pool. I had to stay out of the sun. too much sunburn from the day before!!

Abbey fishing for the first time

Our little visitors. They were at our site at least 5 times a day. Very cute.

Daniel chillin at the campsite

a snuggle before bed

how cute is this girl of mine!?

This was the cheekiest possum ever. We fed him some carrot and he kept coming back. he even came back while we were sleeping and stole our fruit. When we woke the next morning the evidence was everywhere. Then the following night we had some friends over for drinks and he walked right up to me and Stacey and bit Stacey's finger then later he had a nibble on Daniel's toe!
I'll leave you with this pic of Abbey. This lolly pop was one of her fave christmas gifts and today she finally decided to open it. It was really delicious and then she dropped it on the tiled floor and it shattered everywhere! Thank goodness I got a pic first.
Not long after this her tooth fell out. What a valuable lesson!! That's the 6th tooth she has lost.

Well, hope you enjoyed our camping pics. Will hopefully find the time to get some scrapping done tomorrow before I head back to work Tuesday.

Bye for now

Happy New Year!!

Here we are...2010. WOW, I blinked and a decade flew by! I hope your Christmas has been lovely and that you celebrated the new year in whatever style makes you happy. We stayed home this year and played board games with Abbey and watched the fire works on TV. We had a great night - just the 3 of us :)

So, it's been a while since I updated and I have a few layouts to share with you.

This challenge was to use White and Pink

This challenge was to use food or cooking as the theme and using a star/s on the page

This challenge was to use the quote "a match made in heaven"

This challenge was to use the colours Choc brown with teal and 1 other colour
