White with 1 entry

Here is my white with 1 entry for this month.

Criteria was to use White, Duck egg blue and distress.

I really love how this turned out. Not normally a colour I would use but now that it's done...I think I'll use this combo again.

I did it !

I set myself a goal of getting 3 layouts done last night at the midnight crop at Savvy and I did it...with only moments to spare!

I did a little shopping while I was there. The new Nutmeg range from Cosmo is SO GORGEOUS...check this out! And that Prima flower goes perfectly with it.....as does the new thickers that are also called nutmeg - they just HAD to go together.

I also had a play with the very cute Farmers Market range.

another one using Farmers Market...this one is a scraplift. There was no way I could leave out any of these pics of my little Goof Ball so I went on the hunt to find a layout that used multiple pics but without all the fuss that normally goes with putting this many pics together and after hours and hours of scouring blogs I came across this layout and quickly sketched it down and of course...I've thrown away the sketch with the blog name on it. So sorry, I wish I could have shown it to you, it was a gorgeous layout!

I'm mentally working on about 10 more layouts right now so I'm sure I will have something else to show you by the end of the weekend. Don't you love it when you try to rest and your brain won't stop thinking about photo placement and embellishments!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ...I'll leave you with a little pic I took this afternoon at the park. The weather was SO good and we took the totem tennis and a frisbee and had a blast!

I just can't stop

Here are another 3 layouts from the last couple of days.

This one is the Blind Scrap from Challenge Heaven

This is one I did just because. I couldn't sleep when I got home from the midnight crop on Sat night so did another layout while I was in the mood.

This one is my take on the Theme Challenge over at Challenge Heaven. Criteria was to use something from a calendar, date/day etc. scallop edge/s and a tree/s. The title is School Friends Today and then the journaling talks about how Abbey has made some great friends since starting this school and how I hope they are life-long friends.

Last night I chose my papers for the Sketch Challenge at Challenge Heaven. I'm going to make a start on it this afternoon. It's a double. I have never done a double layout before so I'm hoping it turns out OK.

Lots to share

Over the weekend I attended a "Girls Night In" to raise money for breast cancer research and boy was it a scrap-a-thon. 3pm - midnight we scrapped, chatted and scrapped some more!

I had a great time and managed 4 layouts.
This one was a sketch challenge on the night
This one was a challenge to use Pink, Ink, Ribbon and handwritten journaling. I also doubled it up and used a sketch from What is old is new.
This one was the Quote Challenge at Challenge Heaven. The criteria was to use the quote "A picture is worth a thousand words", strip journaling, a button/s and a star/s.

This one was inspired by a layout I saw in a magazine (unfortunately I don't remember the details)
I will be back later tonight to post a couple more layouts that I have finished off today.

new papers means lots of scrapping

I shopped a little at the midnight crop on Friday and got the 3 bugs - 2 the rescue range of PP and also the totally girly and gorgeous MLS - Whoo loves you and the In Bloom ranges of PP. So cute, all of these so I just had to use them. I was so happy to finally get my hands on some very girly paper.

This is the layout I started at the Fri night crop but didn't finish until yesterday using the 2 the rescue papers.
and another using the 2 the rescue papers. I wanted to crank out a couple that were really quick and easy so I scrap lifted myself from a few days ago.
and here is a cute little one for the word challenge at Challenge Heaven using my new MLS papers. The challenge was to use the word "Adorable". There also had to be inking, stamping and some ribbon on the layout.
lets hope I can be as productive in the coming days!

only 1 layout

from the midnight crop at Savvy last night. I have another half done and have tried to get it finished all day today but the housework keeps getting in the way!!

Here is my ONE layout....A scrap lift from somewhere out in blog land (if it's yours please let me know and I'll link it back to you).

I know I have scrapped a couple of these pics before but when I saw this layout I just knew these pics were perfect for it so I just scrapped them again.

It's still a little chilly here today unfortunately so it looks like another day indoors. We all have a little sniffle, I don't want it taking hold so we'll just stay out of the weather.

I will try and get that other layout finished before it gets dark so I can at least take a pic and post it tonight.

Six degrees of seperation

A group of friends and I decided to do a fun experiment, kinda like Chinese whispers but with scrapping.

So, Kim started and passed a layout onto Anne, Anne scrap-lifted the layout and then passed it on to Sandra, who did the same and passed it on to Liz, who passed her version over to Lisa, who emailed it to me and my version - below (some of you may have seen this layout last week cause I accidently posted it - then took it off a day or so later when I realised what I had done)

was emailed to Amanda. It will be very intereresting to see what everyone else came up with.

Looking forward to another one :)

2 challenges done

I managed to get 2 of the challenges from Challenge Heaven done yesterday between watching the football, cooking, blog hopping and looking after Abbey and my gorgeous little 18 month old nephew Nate.

I did the Ebony and Ivory challenge which was to use White, Pink, Green and butterly/s and brads/pearl.

I also did the colour challenge which was to use shades of brown and blue.

Unfortunately after trying several times blogger doesn't want to upload any pics today so you'll have to pop over the the gallery if you want to have a look at them.

Until next time,

Once upon a time....

there was an awesome site I used to go to that had the BEST challenges ever. Yesterday I discovered the site had been shut down!!!! I KNOW...IT PUT ME IN A SPIN!!!

It's the 1st of the month and normally I would be sitting down reading all the challenges getting excited about my scrapping for the month ahead.

Seeing as it no longer exists I thought I would do my own challenges along the same lines as the ones I loved so much.

I know there are a couple of your gals out there (particularly you Amanda) that will also miss these challenges so please play along with me!!

Word Challenge - Use the word "Adorable" in your title.
You must also use inking, ribbon and stamping somewhere on the page

Themed Challenge - Calendar. Take inspiration from a calendar in any way you like. It can be the numbers, months a particular date etc
You must also use scallop edges and a tree/s on your page

Sketch Challenge - Use this awesome sketch from PageMaps as your inspiration.

Quote Challenge - "A picture is worth a thousand words"
You must also use strip jounaling, buttons and a star/s

Number Challenge - 1 flower, 2 photos, 3 buttons, 4 journaling spots/cards/, 5 gems/rhinestones

Colour Challenge - shades of blues and browns

Ebony and Ivory Challenge - White (Ivory) with pink and green
You must also use brads or pearls and a butterfly/s

Scrap Yourself - You must use a pic of yourself using Australia or Australia Day as the theme.

Hope you enjoy the challenges.

Once you have finished them email me abbeys_mum@hotmail.com with your creations. I can't wait to see them!
